Bakersfield Composite Sqdn121 (KBFL)
Come out and train in the field with mission base, aircrew, ground, and sUAS training. This will be a combined forces exercise focused on component (air, ground, sUAS) integration and qualifications that reflect current and future mission needs, such as AP. Emphasis will be placed on real-world scenarios. Cadet participation is encouraged. Evaluators for ALL qualifications will be in attendance!
Fam&prep training before the SAREX can be requested by emailing 1st Lt Kevin Shen, if no local SETs are available.

Saturday and Sunday, 6-7 April 2024; time TBD [~0800-1700]
Prerequisites:
GES and trainee status in requested qualification(s)
Uniform of the Day:
Any CAPR 39-1 Working Uniform (Ground Team –ONLY ABU, CFU)

Cadre Selection Exercise (CSX) is officially open! If you’re eager to contribute as cadre at the upcoming Encampment for California Wing, this is your chance to get involved. As a cadre member, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the experience of cadets attending Encampment for the first time, while also honing your leadership skills in an unparalleled setting.
You must have graduated from an Encampment to serve on cadre.
We are seeking dedicated and capable individuals to fill the following positions:
- Flight Sergeant
- First Sergeant
- Flight Commander
- Administration Officer/NCO
- Deputy Director of Food Services
- Food Services Officer/NCO
- Deputy Director of Logistics
- Logistics Officer/NCO
- Deputy Director of Public Affairs
- Public Affairs Officer/NCO
- Curriculum and Plans Team Member
- Safety Team Member
The link below provides the application process for submission. You will submit a cover letter, resume, and CAPFs 60-81, 160(I), 161, and 163 (if under 18). Applications for these positions must be submitted by 5 Apr at 2355. For all position descriptions, please refer to Chapter 2 of the Encampment Training Handbook. You will receive all memorandums with further information about the CSX after April 5th.

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, prepared in accordance with the business style letter (w/o letterhead) format presented on page 33 of The CAP Guide to Effective Communication (CAPP 1-2). The cover letter should include the following:

Ranking Positions
During registration, you will be asked to rank your top ten positions by preference. Be thoughtful about the order you place each position listed above, as the order in which you rank these positions is the order in which we consider you for each position. We will prioritize the primary choice for the highest scoring applicants. Recognize that due to the high level of competition for each position, you may not receive your second, third, or any of your position choices. You will not be considered eligible for a position in which you have served in the past.
Cadre Selection Exercise will be held at Camp Roberts, CA, on the weekend of April 19 – 21st.
This year’s CAWG Summer Encampment will be held at Camp Roberts from June 24 – July 2 with cadre required to attend Pre-Encampment from June 21 – June 24 also at Camp Roberts.

Staff Positions
In order for this event to be successful, we need both cadet and senior member volunteers. We need senior members that can serve as support staff (logistics, safety, public affairs), scorekeepers, judges and marshals. Cadets are needed for Cadet Adjutant, judges and Cadet Operation Assistants. We will conduct interviews for the Cadet Adjutant position in April.
If you are able to assist, please e-mail the Activity Director, Lt Col Michael Samuel, at michael.samuel@cawgcap.org, with the position(s) you would like to volunteer for and include past cadet competition experience.
